The GED® test has been updated to make sure it measures what graduating from high school seniors know and what colleges and employers will expect of you. It is offered on a computer (paper is available for accommodations only). It has four (4) parts:
On the GED® test, you need to earn at least 150 points on each subject to pass.
To find out if you’re likely to pass, take the GED Ready™: The Official Practice Test, which is the only test that can tell you if you’re likely to pass.

Registration is simple. Simply sign up for MyGED™ at www.GED.com, and you will get information about local policies, how to request modified testing conditions (accommodations), or you’ll be able to schedule your test right then.
Scheduling is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with MyGED™ at www.GED.com. Log in and click on “Schedule Test” at the top. Once you complete the scheduling questions, you’ll be directed to choose your language, subject, and the day and time that work best for you to test. You can also schedule one test at a time to make sure you feel prepared every time.
You can pay as you go with the GED® test. This means you can pay for each subject individually or when you are ready to test.
In Texas, the fee per subject is about $36.00 or $145.00 for the full battery if taken at a GED testing center, or $169.00 if taken online. Check your state’s department of education for pricing in your state.
If you do not pass a subject, you can (within a year) retake it (up to twice) at the reduced price of $16.00 per subject that you failed the last time you took that subject test. You can continue to attempt to pass after that, with certain restrictions (see TEA. Texas. Gov for more details on how it works in Texas).
The GED®program gives you everything you need for success, and MyGED™ will help get you there. With MyGED, you receive unprecedented support before and after your test. Conveniently, register and schedule 24/7. Pay as you go and test what you want, when you want.
